Nude Skincare Progenius Omega Treatment Rescue Oil

Face oils are, undoubtedly, one skincare category I struggle with. Finding the right balance of a light-weight formula for my oily skin and one that absorbs quickly has not been easy with a majority of the oils I've previously tried. Most times, I get frustrated by how they perform and they end up in the neglected pile of skincare after a couple of uses. I can only name a couple of face oils I use consistently.

When Nude Skincare reached out to me asking if I would like to try their new Progenius Omega Treatment Rescue Oil ($68), I did have my reservations. However, having been satisfied with most products I've tried from Nude Skincare and after reading up on the ingredients unique to this particular oil (more on that later), I knew I had to give this one a go.

I have not tried the Progenius Omega Treatment Oil, so I cannot compare the Rescue Oil to its predecessor. What I can say though is that the Rescue Oil has one of the best consistencies in a face oil I've ever come across. It is water-like and thin in consistency, and it absorbs extremely fast with barely a hint of an oily residue. In that aspect, I like to think of this as more of a dry oil rather than a typical face oil. Because of this, I can apply this day or night, although I prefer to save my retinol(like)-containing products for nighttime.

What really drew me to this oil is the impressive list of key ingredients, namely bakuchiol -- pronounced ba-koo-heel -- a natural alternative to retinol and one that has been shown to be comparable to resveratrol. After a month of daily night-time application after my serum, I have noticed that any hyperpigmentation I had from random breakouts have lightened considerably. Hormones usually wreak havoc on my chin during that time of the month, but I am happy to report that aside from a couple of small bumps, I did not once have deal with any active breakouts. Pore-wise, I did notice they were minimized and I had fewer blackheads.

Aside from bakuchiol, the Treatment Rescue Oil also boasts a whole host of other natural and beneficial ingredients such as rose hip seed oil (great for sebum control), coleus root extract (to clarify the skin), and thyme leaf extract (for a punch of antioxidant.) Along with said ingredients is added fragrance -- one I would describe as slightly citrusy -- so do make note of that if you're sensitive to scents in your skincare.

The Treatment Rescue Oil is a product I can see myself reaching for regularly, especially on nights when I simply just want to pare down my skincare routine, yet still reaping the benefits. This oil is now available here or at your local Sephora. I do recommend trying a sample first to see if the product agrees with your skin. Like with all new skincare products, I also suggest doing a patch test beforehand.

  1. Been wanting to try Nude Skincare for sometime, and this sounds like something should really look into! I've tried quite a few face oils now, and to date, my fave is Chantecaille's one. It's hella expensive, but I definitely think it helped drastically improve the condition of my skin, and helped restore my skin after it exploded with zits for months last summer.

    1. I just got the Chantecaille one in a recent GWP, so I can't wait to give it a try since it got the Noodles seal of approval! Their skincare line is ultra-luxurious and the price tag definitely reflects that :D
